The seventh annual River’s End Volunteer Fire Department BBQ Cook-off fund raiser, held May 1 – 2, 2010 at 12070 F.M. 2918, brought the community two days of good food, family fun and funding for community outreach projects.

R.E.V.F.D. wishes to congratulate all the winners for their hard work, great tasting free samples, and their contributions to the department.

R.E.V.F.D. would also like to thank Johnny Handley for orchestrating a successful auction on Saturday. Big thanks to the businesses and people that contributed Items for the auction. Thanks also go out to the judges who came out Sunday and to Darrell Powell for cooking all the department’s meat for the meal Sunday and all other R.E.V.F.D. members and nonmembers who worked behind the scenes to make it enjoyable for all. And an extra big thanks to the community for coming out to support the department. R.E.V.F.D. could not exist without community support. In a year when the economy is struggling, the community stepped up and is responsible for a great community event. See you next year!
