For immediate release. Please announce the following not-for-profit event results:

13^th Annual River’s End Volunteer Fire Dept. Fishing Tournament / Fund Raiser Reels in Fun, Fish, and Funds

Two days of rain fell on the intrepid anglers, but it could not dampen the spirit of family and community during the 13^th annual River’s End Volunteer Fire Dept. Fishing Tournament and Fund Raiser. The tournament began at 12:01 a.m., Friday, October 2, and ran through 2 p.m., Sunday, October 4^th when final weights were tallied and prizes awarded. 

A total of 83 official fish were weighed in over the weekend and the final results of the tournament are as follows:

 In the Adult Division:

Redfish

1^st Place – Ben Boatright with a fish weighing in at 7.00 lbs.

2^nd Place – John Churchill with a fish weighing in at 6.64 lbs.

3^rd Place – Louise Knight with a fish weighing in at 6.12 lbs.

Speckled Trout

1^st Place – Joel Caravan with a fish weighing in at 4.98 lbs.

2^nd Place – Blake Sullivan with a fish weighing in at 4.52 lbs.

3^rd Place – Josh Cole with a fish weighing in at 2.47 lbs.

Flounder

1^st Place – James Hinsley with a fish weighing in at 3.78 lbs.

2^nd Place – Kathy Garza with a fish weighing in at 3.24 lbs.

3^rd Place – Jim Heathcock with a fish weighing in at 3.08 lbs.

Croaker

1^st Place – Margaret Berryman with a fish weighing in at 1.66 lbs.

2^nd Place – Margaret Berryman with a fish weighing in at 1.60 lbs.

3^rd Place – M. D. George with a fish weighing in at 1.28 lbs.

Heaviest Stringer – Jana Gardner with a stringer weighing in at 22.22 lbs.

Redfish with the Most Spots – Billy Huett whose fish had 29 spots

In the Youth Division:

Redfish

1^st Place – Andrew Lima with a fish weighing in at 5.08 lbs.

2^nd Place – Clayton Nagler with a fish weighing in at 3.90 lbs.

3^rd Place – Kyle Cates with a fish weighing in at 3.16 lbs.

Speckled Trout

1^st Place – Alex Lima with a fish weighing in at 2.44 lbs.

2^nd Place – Cole Nagler with a fish weighing in at 1.48 lbs.

3^rd Place – Cole Nagler with a fish weighing in at 1.14 lbs.

Flounder

1^st Place – Andrew Lima with a fish weighing in at 1.76 lbs.

There were no second place or third place entries.

Croaker

1^st Place – Andrew Lima with a fish weighing in at 1.08 lbs.

2^nd Place – Alex Lima with a fish weighing in at 1.00 lbs.

3^rd Place – Alex Lima with a fish weighing in at 1.00 lbs.

Largest Hardhead Catfish – Wil Myers with a fish weighing in at 0.92 lbs.

Heaviest Blue Crab – Wil Myers with a Crab of 0.84 lbs.

Largest Sand / Gulf Trout – Anthony Smith, Jr. with a fish weighing in at 1.06 lbs.

Redfish with the Most Spots – Kyle Cales whose fish had 2 spots
