money with cook-off

The seventh annual River’s End Volunteer Fire Department

Barbecue Cook-off fundraiser, hosted earlier this month, brought the

community two days of food, family fun and funding for community

outreach projects. Twelve teams entered this year. The weather

cooperated, allowing a large number of community members to attend.

The winning teams are:

FAJITAS:

first place, Shady Ladies;

second place, Channel Dr. Bunch;

third place, Asleep at the Grill

CHICKEN:

first place, Luckenback and Co.

second place, Asleep at the Grill

third place, Channel Dr. Bunch.

RIBS:

first place, Steel Smokin’

second place, Asleep at the Grill;

third place, Trashy Cookers.

BRISKET:

first place, Hardwood Cookers;

second place, Texas Country Cookers;

third place, Whiskey Cookers.

This was the first year for the Kid’s Hamburger Patty Cook-off, which

was well-received with 16 teams entering. The winners are:

first place, Briar Jones;

second place, Robert Owens;

third place, Jade Goodson.
