Fishing Tournament Rules

Official R.E.V.F.D. Fishing Tournament Rules:


1. Every participant must be entered and registered prior to fishing.
2. No participant can begin fishing before 12:01 a.m. first day of tournament.
3. All fish must be caught with rod, reel, hook and line.
4. Fish must be caught in public waters. No fishing in restricted areas such as: Dow
Barge Canal, Brazos River floodgates, Colorado locks, and certain areas of Port Freeport.
5. All fish entered must be caught legally according to all Texas Parks and Wildlife
and Federal fishing regulations.
6. All fish will be checked for freshness. Spoiled, mutilated, deformed, gutted, or
frozen fish will be disqualified.
7. Weigh master reserves the right to gut fish with obviously distended bellies and
weigh the fish without the contents of the stomach.
8. Official fish weighing station will be the R.E.V.F.D. Station 1.
9. Weigh station hours: Friday and Saturday – noon until 9 p.m.; Sunday – 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
10. All professional or commercial fishermen or guides are ineligible for this tournament.
11. In case of a tie, the first fish entered will be the winner.
12. All prizes must be picked up in 30 days.
13. R.E.V.F.D. reserves the right to exclude anyone from this tournament.
14. Only Redfish between 20” and 27” may be entered in any category.
15. Only one Speckled Trout per contestant per day in excess of 25” may be entered.
16. All fish will be measured per regulations put forth in the 2010-11 TPW Regulations.
17. Fish cannot be entered more than once or in more than one category.
18. Participant must remove fish after weigh-in.
19. Tournament Director’s decisions are final.
20. R.E.V.F.D. is not responsible for accidents.
21. Anyone not in line at 2 p.m. the last day of the tournament will not be weighed in.


- In case of a storm, the tournament will be postponed for 2 weeks.
- R.E.V.F.D. or volunteers of the tournament may not be held responsible for injuries,
accidents or damages.
- Protests will only be accepted during weigh-in hours; presented to Tournament Director.
